چکیده
This pa.per demonstrates how image features of linear extent (lengths and spacings) image-independent constraints on un erlying surface cf encrate nearly orientations. General constraints are derived from the shape-from-texture paradigm; then. certain special cases are shown to be especially useful. Under orthography, the assumption that two extents are equal is shown to be identical to the assumption that an ima angle (i.e. orthogra hit e extent is a s e angle is a right skewed symmetry . are assumed equa 1 nder and para Ii erspective, orm of slope or if image extents into slope. If extents are adjacent as well, the e uations are first order and the derived construction 4 the “‘acli-knife particularly straightforward an d method”) is general. This method works not only on measures of extent per texel, but also on reciprocal measures: texels per extent. Several examples and discussion indicate that the methods are robust, derivin search, where ot B surface informat ion cheaply, without er methods must fail.*

Data Reconciliation in Reaction Systems using the Concept of Extents
Concentrations measured during the course of a chemical reaction are corrupted with noise, which reduces the quality of information. When these measurements are used for identifying kinetic models, the noise impairs the ability to identify accurate models. The noise in concentration measurements can be reduced using data reconciliation, exploiting for example the material balances as constraint...
متن کاملThe least-disturbance principle and weak constraints
Certain problems, notably in computer vision, involve adjusting a set of real-valued labels to satisfy certain constraints. They can be formulated as optimisation problems, using the 'least-disturbance' principle: the minimal alteration is made to the labels that will achieve a consistent labelling. Under certain linear constraints, the solution can be achieved iteratively and in parallel, by h...
متن کاملPractical constraints on estimation of source extent with MEG beamformers
We aimed to determine practical constraints on the estimation of the spatial extent of neuronal activation using MEG beamformers. Correct estimation of spatial extent is a pre-requisite for accurate models of electrical activity, allows one to estimate current density, and enables non-invasive monitoring of functional recovery following stroke. The output of an MEG beamformer is maximum when th...
متن کاملLinear plus fractional multiobjective programming problem with homogeneous constraints using fuzzy approach
We develop an algorithm for the solution of multiobjective linear plus fractional programming problem (MOL+FPP) when some of the constraints are homogeneous in nature. Using homogeneous constraints, first we construct a transformation matrix T which transforms the given problem into another MOL+FPP with fewer constraints. Then, a relationship between these two problems, ensuring that the solu...

Abstract In this paper we have investigated a fuzzy linear programming problem with fuzzy quantities which are LR triangular fuzzy numbers. The given linear programming problem is rearranged according to the satisfactory level of constraints using breaking point method. By considering the constraints, the arranged problem has been investigated for all optimal solutions connected with satisf...
